PROJECT 1: SUSTAINABLE SYSTEM IN A CITY

BRIEF

This assignment explores the importance of biodiversity awareness and community engagement in building sustainable cities. Students will analyze a city's urban context, population, design patterns, density, and land use. They will compare a highly ranked sustainable city to identify strategies for improvement. In Phase Three, they assess the city's structural systems for biodiversity awareness and community engagement. The final deliverable is a detailed journal or portfolio showcasing insights and strategies to enhance city sustainability and resilience. This assignment provides a practical framework for understanding sustainable urban development.

OUTCOME

This assignment aims to teach students about sustainable urban practices, biodiversity conservation, and community engagement. Through analysis of a city, comparison to successful sustainable cities, and critical evaluation of systems, students will develop skills in analyzing cities holistically, proposing practical solutions, and integrating sustainability into urban planning.
