1YEAR REFLECTION

Self-Reflection on the Semester's Lecture, Assessments, and Projects :

This semester has been a profound journey of learning and personal development, marked by enlightening lectures and challenging assessments, particularly projects such as DESIGN COMMUNICATION. The endeavor to depict the Farnsworth House in Project 2 (P2) proved to be a formidable task, providing an opportunity to delve into the architectural intricacies of this iconic structure. Additionally, the model enabled a deeper exploration of the architect's role, revealing insights into their military background in P1.

In the ARCHITECTURE HISTORY AND THEORY module, the revelation of the National Stadium was a source of great excitement. Collaborating with my groupmate on this task proved to be a gratifying experience, as it allowed for a comprehensive understanding of the building. In P2, an abundance of information about a previously unfamiliar structure further enriched my architectural knowledge. These modules have consistently urged me to apply theoretical concepts with both creativity and practicality, thereby enhancing my problem-solving skills.

One particularly intriguing aspect was the ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN 1 module, especially in P2, where the challenge was to construct a bamboo-based structure. This group project not only added an enjoyable dimension to the learning journey but also underscored the significance of collaborative efforts across P1 to P3.

In the ARCHITECTURE AND ENVIRONMENT module, for project 1, it taught me a lot about better understanding environmental design and sustainable building techniques that I previously only knew in general, and for project 2, it taught me to gain knowledge of building rules, sustainability rating methods, and environmental design interactions and recognize about GBI.

For this module ASIAN ARCHITECTURE AND THEORIES OF THE ASIAN ARCHITECTURE in the beginning i think it would be difficult and boring but after sir Prince explained it in the tutorial class it started to seem fun and easy  to me because it involves physical movement to perform it and its a thing that interesting to do alone or with a group, lastly i would like to thank Mr Prince Favis Isip for always giving instruction and giving feedback to everyone

Constructive feedback from instructors and peers has been pivotal in comprehending my strengths and areas for improvement. Embracing criticism as a means of continuous growth, I am grateful for the diligent guidance provided by our lecturer. I am committed to investing additional effort in these areas through further study and seeking assistance when necessary.

Reflecting on the semester, I take pride in the progress achieved and harbor a heightened confidence in my grasp of the subject matter. This period of academic exploration not only bestowed valuable knowledge but also fostered a resilient and adaptable mindset. Eagerly anticipating the application of these newfound insights in future academic and professional pursuits, I look forward to the continued evolution of my architectural understanding.

Reflection on Learning Platform and Experience this Semester :

This semester, my principal avenues of academic engagement have been MyTIMES and TELEGRAM, pivotal platforms that have significantly molded my architectural theory learning experience. These platforms seamlessly afford access to course materials, enabling me to maintain organizational precision and sustained engagement with the substantive content.

Notably, these platforms facilitate direct interaction with speakers, providing an avenue for posing a myriad of questions with subsequent responses from the speakers. The integration of interactive features, coupled with multimedia elements and collaboration tools, contributes to an elevated learning environment, fostering depth and breadth in architectural theory comprehension.

Despite these commendable attributes, certain challenges surfaced, including sporadic technical glitches and the intricacies associated with platform navigation. The process of overcoming these obstacles has proven to be an invaluable exercise, imparting crucial lessons in adaptability and resilience—skills imperative in navigating the complexities of contemporary digital learning landscapes.

Participation and interaction, integral to the architectural discourse, are deftly facilitated through discussion forums and virtual meetings. Even within the confines of a virtual environment, these interactions serve as opportunities to share perspectives, seek clarification, and cultivate a sense of community among peers.

In addition to the primary learning platforms, the instructor extended communication channels by establishing a presence on Facebook to disseminate comprehensive information. This supplementary platform proves highly accessible for students, facilitating the swift retrieval of module-related information. Furthermore, the direct learning methodology employed, characterized by compelling and thought-provoking slides, sustains our unwavering focus.

In hindsight, this semester's academic journey unfolded as a nuanced tapestry woven with both affirmative and challenging experiences. The insights gained from adeptly navigating digital platforms, leveraging interactive features, and fostering virtual learning communities are poised to intricately inform and shape my approach to future architectural theory projects. As I look toward the future, these lessons will undoubtedly resonate, guiding my endeavors in the dynamic realm of architectural discourse and practice.

2 YEAR REFLECTION

Self-Reflection on the Semester's Lecture, Assessments, and Projects :

This semester has been a revolutionary experience, combining artistic discovery, technical accuracy, and teamwork. The combination of poetic assemblage, site investigation, and reclaimed architecture established a strong bond with local dance culture while improving my architectural and conceptual skills. Each subject and project brought new challenges and opportunities, inspiring me to broaden my knowledge of design principles, cultural context, and professional practice. By completing these many assignments, I have improved both academically and emotionally, learning about my strengths and areas for improvement .Project 1A,The project aimed to explore the expressive dimensions of design, focusing on bodily-conscious design and incorporating dance and architecture. The project challenged the individual to balance the abstract qualities of choreography with the technical demands of an architectural envelope, requiring constant adaptation and effective integration of creative and practical considerations. Despite the challenges, the project significantly enhanced the individual's critical and creative thinking, allowing them to understand how design can serve as an expressive and functional medium. This project pushed the individual to think beyond traditional forms and embrace experimental approaches .Project 1B,The project involved conducting a thorough site recce to understand contextual and cultural nuances, synchronizing form, space, and ideation, and adapting theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. The challenge was capturing the essence of the site while envisioning its transformation into a meaningful space, requiring collaboration and refinements. The project fostered interpersonal skills, teamwork, and effective communication, as well as the importance of understanding and respecting diverse perspectives in collaborative efforts. Project 1C, Reclaimed Architecture – A Dance Annex was a challenging project that aimed to reclaim and promote local dance culture. It taught the author how to curate programs that align with cultural sustainability while addressing functional needs. The project also challenged the author to balance cultural sensitivity and innovation, enhancing their technical skills and spatial relationships. The project also honed the author's problem-solving skills, allowing them to effectively address complex architectural challenges.
