ASSIGNMENT 1A: Low Energy Building Analysis (Group)

BRIEF

Our group chose NLR, or Research Support Facility, as the low-energy facility to analyse for our study. I gained a lot of knowledge about building energy consumption from this study, especially regarding how the building envelope affects energy performance. My comprehension of how energy-saving technologies might be included to raise overall building efficiency has also improved as a result of the project.

Reflection

Our delayed progress on this project was a major source of worry for me. However, our study was guided by having a comprehensive understanding of the urban evaluation prior to beginning the investigation. I am appreciative of my coworkers because we were able to finish the project mostly because many of them were able to work independently on their allocated jobs.

Reflection on Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities (TGC)

Discipline-Specific Knowledge (TGC 1):
The assessments allowed me to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios. In Project 1, understanding the cultural and contextual nuances of the site deepened my grasp of professional practice and ethical design principles. Phase 1 enhanced my ability to apply discipline-specific knowledge by creating functional, culturally sensitive architectural solutions.
