PROJECT 2 : STRUCTURE AND BODY : MATERIAL, ANTHROPOMETRIC AND ERGONOMIC EXPLORATION
BRIEF
"My Bamboo" initiative involves collaborative efforts among students, directed towards the creation of a 1:1 bamboo structure within an underutilized green space, incorporating concepts from Project 1. Workshops within the project place a strong emphasis on anthropometry, ergonomics, and architectural elements. Guided by bamboo experts, the overarching objective is the realization of a purposeful structure that contributes meaningfully to urban green spaces. The project serves as a platform for students to engage in reflective interactions with the transformative influence of architecture, cultivating them into proactive change agents capable of making substantial contributions to their communities.
This initiative extends its impact to the transformation of the P3KU Community Farm into a public space through the design of bamboo activity structures utilizing sustainable materials. The project not only fosters the development of architectural skills but also encourages students to embrace roles as place-makers and changemakers, further emphasizing the transformative potential of architectural interventions in the community.
